Trump Deploys Nuclear Subs After Medvedev’s Chilling Threat

Written by:

President Donald Trump has ordered two U.S. nuclear submarines repositioned “in the appropriate regions” following a stark warning from former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev. The dramatic move came after Medvedev lashed out at Trump’s 10-day ceasefire ultimatum for Ukraine, calling it “a step towards World War III.”

Medvedev warned that any U.S.-led escalation could trigger Russia’s “Perimeter” system—also known as the “Dead Hand”—an automatic nuclear retaliation mechanism designed for worst-case scenarios. He declared that Moscow would not bow to threats and said, “Americans only understand force.”

In response, Trump posted on Truth Social, calling the statement “highly provocative” and warning that reckless language can have unintended consequences. Alongside the submarine deployment, Trump has threatened new tariffs on nations buying Russian oil and sent a special envoy to Moscow to push for a ceasefire.

The deployment marks one of the most aggressive nuclear postures by the U.S. in years, turning a diplomatic showdown into a high-stakes military flashpoint.
