Trump Diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency

Former President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common but often underreported condition that affects blood flow in the legs. The announcement came after recent photos of Trump’s swollen ankles and leg swelling circulated online, raising public questions about Trump’s health. Chronic venous insufficiency, or CVI, occurs when vein walls or valves in the legs don’t function properly, leading to fluid buildup, discomfort, or visible swelling.

Doctors confirmed the condition after a vascular scan but emphasized that Trump’s vein condition is not life-threatening. While chronic venous insufficiency symptoms can include aching, heaviness, or skin changes, Trump is reportedly not experiencing major complications. The diagnosis highlights a broader issue affecting many older adults, especially as Trump’s age nears 80.

Though the term vein disease may sound alarming, this specific form is manageable with treatment like compression socks, exercise, and elevation. Still, the rare public disclosure adds to ongoing Trump health concerns, and for the first time, his team appears more open about age-related conditions. For now, Trump’s chronic venous insufficiency is being monitored—and managed.
