Trump vs. Musk: EV War Shakes Tesla

Written by:

A fiery feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump erupts over EV mandates and Tesla subsidies—sending TSLA stock sliding and political sparks flying.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump are at war—and Tesla investors are paying the price. The former allies have turned bitter foes as Trump slams EV subsidies and calls Musk’s empire “propped up by taxpayers.” Musk fired back, demanding all subsidies be cut and calling Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” a “disgusting abomination.”

The fallout? Tesla stock—TSLA—dropped sharply, and Musk is now threatening to launch a new political party. He’s publicly vowed to take down any lawmaker who backs Trump’s bill, saying they’ll “lose their primary next year if it’s the last thing I do.”

Trump didn’t hold back either, mocking Musk’s reliance on government money and suggesting he “head back to South Africa.” Meanwhile, Tesla’s robotaxi rollout is facing heat after a self-driving mishap sparked safety concerns.

What started as a policy disagreement has spiraled into a high-stakes political feud—pitting Tesla’s future against Trump’s power. And in the middle of it all, Elon Musk seems ready to burn the system down to rebuild it on his own terms.
